AMBALA/KURUKSHETRA: Haryana police teams in Ambala and Kurukshetra district arrested three people, after recovering 510 gm heroin in two cases from their possession.
In Ambala, the district crime investigation agency (CIA)-II arrested Tej Pratap Singh alias Twinkle of Pooja Vihar, Ambala City on Saturday, after recovering 310 gm heroin from his possession from Dukheri over bridge on the National Highway (NH) 44 in Parao police station area. Tej was produced in the district court in Ambala on Sunday, which granted his two-day police remand.
The CIA-II Ambala had received the tip-off that accused Tej smuggled heroin in large quantities from Delhi and he has a history of several drug smuggling related cases. The Ambala police said acting on the tip-off, the accused was arrested smuggling heroin in his car. The police said Tej has five cases of drug smuggling and one of criminal intimidation registered against him in Ambala’s Mahesh Nagar, Baldev Nagar and Saha police stations.
A case was registered against Tej under relevant Sections of NDPS Act at Parao police station on Saturday.
In Kurukshetra, the CIA-II arrested two accused Krishan Kumar of Saini Mohalla, Kalayat, Kaithal and Ashok Kumar of Rai Patti, Kaithal, after recovering 200 gm heroin from their possession.
Kurukshetra ASP Karan Goel said the CIA-II received the tip-off that both Krishan and Ashok sold heroin and they would be coming with contraband towards Pehowa on their motorcycle on Sunday. He said they were nabbed at a checking post near Mistri Farm on Pehowa road in Sadar Pehowa police station area.
ASP Goel said both were produced before the district court, which granted their five-day police remand for further investigation.
A case was registered against Krishan and Ashok under relevant Sections of NDPS Act at Sadar Pehowa police station on Sunday.
