KURUKSHETRA: A couple was killed after the roof of a house collapsed at Saraswati Kherha village in Pehowa block of Kurukshetra district on Friday.
The deceased have been identified as Joga Singh and his wife Pammi, residents of Patiala, who had come to their relatives house in said village of Pehowa, and were killed while sleeping after the roof of house collapsed.
Pehowa police station house officer (SHO) Nirmal Kumar, said, “The couple had reached Pehowa to attend the bhog of their relative Harbans Singh’s mother. They died after the roof of a kutcha house collapsed. The bhog was in the daytime on Friday, but the incident took place in the early morning."
The police said the victims were rushed to a hospital, but the doctors declared them dead.
Pehowa SHO said the dead bodies were handed over to their family members after conducting proceedings under Section 174 (police to enquire and report on suicide, etc.) of the CrPC.
