AMBALA: The crime investigation agency (CIA)-I of Ambala police arrested an accused after recovering 100-gram heroin from his possession under Baldev Nagar police station area on Monday.
The police said the arrested accused has been identified as Mukesh Kumar of Omaxe Green, Ambala City. He was produced in the Ambala court on Tuesday which granted his three-day police remand for investigation.
CIA-I had received the tip-off that accused Mukesh was involved in smuggling of narcotics and accordingly, a checking post was laid near Omaxe Green in Ambala City.
The police said while checking the suspected vehicles, Mukesh commuting on his motorcycle was stopped and 100 gm heroin was recovered from his possession.
Meanwhile, the Ambala police have registered a case under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act at Baldev Nagar police station.
