AMBALA: The Ambala police has arrested a man for allegedly murdering a person over an illicit relationship in Mahesh Nagar area of Ambala Cantonment Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Ram Saran Sharma of Inderpuri colony, Ambala Cantonment.
The accused was identified as Parveen Kumar, who attacked Ram Saran with an axe.
On the complaint of Suman Devi, wife of deceased Ram Saran, a case was registered against Praveen Kumar under Section 302 (punishment for murder) of the Indian Penal Code at Mahesh Nagar police station on Monday.
Suman said that her husband was getting a building constructed at Tangri bridge to rent it. "On Sunday, my husband slept outside the under-construction building. Around 5 am, their servant Ramu found Ram Saran dead with injury mark of a sharp-edged weapon on his face. My husband was having an illicit relation with a woman who earlier had relations with accused Praveen Kumar", said the complainant.
Mahesh Nagar police station house officer (SHO) Rampal Singh said, “Praveen was arrested. He was unhappy with the relation of Ram Saran with the woman and he killed him last night. He will be produced before a court on Tuesday.”
