AMBALA: The number of Covid-19 positive cases is doubling at a fast rate in the Ambala district, which also reported three positive cases of Omicron on Wednesday.
Ambala civil surgeon Dr Kuldeep Singh said, "Three persons from a family of Ambala City reported positive for Omicron variant of Covid-19, including a 10-month-old girl, a woman (35) and a man (70). One member of this family had recently returned from Dublin, Ireland. All three patients are stable."
Meanwhile, Ambala district reported 124 positive cases of Covid-19 on Wednesday, which is nearly double than 69 reported on Tuesday. The district had reported 41 positive cases of Covid-19 on Monday.
Among the 124 positive cases, Ambala City reported 51, Ambala Cantonment 41, Chourmastpur 13, Shahzadpur 7, Barara 5, Mullana 4, and Naraingarh 3.
Dr Singh said the health department vaccinated 13,836 people against Covid-19 on Wednesday.
Dr Singh said the recovery rate of Ambala district is 97.18 per cent and the mortality rate is 1.64 per cent. The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in Ambala up to Wednesday is 30,534, of which, 510 people have died.
