CHANDIGARH: In response to the issues raised by farmers in the Narnaund area of Hisar district, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Friday took decisive action by issuing an order to assess the extent of crop damage resulting from lack of rain in the region.
He has provided assurances that farmers facing losses due to damaged crops will receive compensation.
This significant announcement came during a direct interaction between Khattar and the local community in a Jan Samvad program held in the Ugalan village on Friday.
Farmers in the region conveyed their distress regarding the lack of rainfall, which has led to the withering of their crops. In response, the Chief Minister promptly directed the Revenue department officials to conduct an assessment using "girdawari", aimed at determining the extent of crop damage. Farmers with crop insurance would be eligible to file claims, while those without insurance would receive compensation from the government, he added.
