GURUGRAM: A 13-year-old girl was allegedly abducted and raped by a 21-year-old man in her neighbourhood in a Bilaspur village. The minor’s father filed a police complaint at Bilaspur police station on July 12 claiming that his daughter was raped by the man at different ocassions for last two months and was threatened that her family members would be killed if she revealed it to anyone.
According to the girl’s family, their daughter had become reclusive and hardly spoke to anyone. On July 8, when she didn’t return home, the family searched for her for several hours following which she was found at Bilaspur Chowk late in the night. When asked, the girl told her family that she was abducted by the man in the morning from the chowk and was raped. “My daughter was repeatedly raped for last two months and the man had threatened to kill her and us if she told anyone,” the father told the cops. The girl is a Class 8 student and studies in a government school and the accused is her neighbour, police said.
The police said that the medical examination of the survivor confirmed sexual assault and they have also recorded the her statement before the duty magistrate.
An FIR was registered against the man under sections 363 (punishment for kidnapping), 366A (pro curation of minor girl) and 506 (criminal intimidation) under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 6 (punishment for aggravated penetrative sexual assault) under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act, on July 13.
“The man is absconding. We are conducting raids to arrest him,” said a police officer.
