HISAR: A total of 21 candidates have filed their nominations for the byelection in the Ellenabad assembly seat. The election commission would announce a list of candidates whose nominations have been found in order. The last date of scrutiny is October 11 and for withdrawing the nomination is October 16.
The main contestants are Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) leader Abhay Singh Chautala, Pawan Kumar Beniwal of Congress and Govind Kanda from BJP. Abhay Chautala’s elder son Karan Singh Chautala filed his nomination as covering candidate.
Cong workers gather at Bharat Singh’s place
After announcing the ticket to Pawan Beniwal, Congress workers and local leaders gathered at the house of former Congress candidate Bharat Singh Beniwal on Friday. Sources said Bharat Singh is angry with Pawan being made the candidate. Bharat Singh has said he will take further decisions after talking to his supporters on Sunday.
Prusty appointed general supervisor

BJP leaders start election campaign
BJP as now started its election campaign for Govind Kanda with the collaboration of a controversial leader and former home minister Gopal Kanda. Kanda had resigned from his brother’s party and joined BJP on October 3, after which BJP made him its joint candidate. With the open support of his brother, now Kanda has become a common candidate of three parties BJPJJP-HLP. Former BJP president and Ellenabad election in-charge Subhash Barala, JJP leader Digvijay Singh took a meeting of workers.
