Here is the Tottenham Hotspur digest on Sunday, September 6.
Tottenham transfer state of play
With just a month to go in this summer’s transfer window, it’s a big four weeks or so for Tottenham and Jose Mourinho, as Alasdair Gold writes.
Spurs have already signed Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Joe Hart and Matt Doherty this summer, but the search for a striker continues.
After signing those three players, football.london understands that bringing a new striker through the door is the club’s main priority.
Metz striker Habib Diallo is a Spurs target, football.london understands, with Mourinho’s side also being linked with Callum Wilson, Diego Costa and Arkadiusz Milik.
Spurs player ratings after Watford defeat
Tottenham were beaten 2-1 by Watford in their final pre-season match before next weekend’s first game of the season against Everton.
It wasn’t the best Spurs performance, but some players stood out more than others, as Alasdair Gold writes in his player ratings.
Joe Hart: 4, Serge Aurier: 5, Davinson Sanchez: 6, Cameron Carter-Vickers: 6, Dennis Cirkin: 4, Harvey White: 7, Tanguy Ndombele: 5, Dele Alli: 4, Erik Lamela, 5, Son Heung-min: 7, Lucas Moura: 4.

Levy opens up on Spurs transfer frustration
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has explained how frustrating the summer transfer window can be for the club and why signing a new striker is not as easy as it sounds.
Spurs are after a striker to provide some support, or competition, for talisman Harry Kane, but are yet to find someone.
Talking on the Amazon Prime show All or Nothing: Tottenham Hotspur, Levy said: “I get very frustrated if we get to the end of a transfer window and the team is not in a better place than we started.
“We have a budget and putting aside the money there may be a player we all like but unless you’ve got a club that wants to sell or are willing to sell, you’ve got the agent who wants to do business and a player who wants to come here.”
