Harvey Weinstein moved from hospital prison ward to Rikers Island

NEW YORK _ Harvey Weinstein was transferred on Thursday from a hospital prison ward to Rikers Island prison 10 days after a Manhattan jury found the disgraced producer guilty of rape and sexual assault.

The one-time Hollywood heavyweight was admitted to Bellevue Hospital for a blocked artery hours after the verdict came down on Feb. 24, his publicist Juda Engelmayer confirmed on Thursday.

"His lawyer saw him today, this morning, and he was healing and recovering," Engelmayer said. "Trying to be as upbeat as he could."

Doctors said Weinstein is now well enough to be held in the North Infirmary at Rikers Island until his sentencing on March 11.
