The Manhattan District Attorney has hit Harvey Weinstein with a new indictment accusing him of sexually assaulting a third victim and charging him with a pattern sex crime that carries up to life in prison.
Weinstein now faces a minimum of a decade behind bars for predatory sexual assault.
He was also hit with new charges for an alleged July. 19, 2006 attack on a victim.
Court papers say Weinstein performed oral sex on the victim against her will in that encounter but the superseding indictment did not disclose the specific location or additional details.
He was previously charged with forcing Lucia Evans, an actress, to perform oral sex on him in 2004 and with raping an unidentified woman at a Midtown hotel in 2013.
DA Cy Vance Jr. said his office's probe is still underway and that the charges filed Monday are "some of the most serious sexual offenses that exist under New York's penal law."
"This indictment is the result of the extraordinary courage exhibited by the survivors who have come forward," the DA added.
