Harvey Norman to open its electronics and home appliance department in Phase 1 of lifting restrictions

Electronics and homeware retailer Harvey Norman is set to open its doors on Monday.

But those who were hoping to check out its homeware section will be disappointed.

The brand, which has 13 stores around the country, will only be able to open its electronic and home appliance department.

Its Dublin stores are located in Blanchardstown, Carrickmines, Rathfarnham, Swords and Tallaght.

In a statement on Facebook, they said: "We're here for your home appliance & essential technology needs.

"Our home appliances, technology and home office furniture departments will re-open on Monday May 18 to shop for home appliances, laptops, printers, desks, office chairs and more."

They confirmed that furniture and bedding products can still be bought online for home delivery.

The steps being taken by the retailer for the safety of customers and staff include:

  • In-store customer numbers will be managed and you may be asked to queue before entering the store
  • Please allow for social distancing between yourself, other shoppers and our staff
  • We ask that customers bring only one child per customer to our stores
  • Please use the hand santiser available in-store
  • Use contactless payment methods
  • Please allow vulnerable shoppers to visit between 9:30-10:30am each day
  • Our website remains open 24/7 for online shopping and home delivery
