Harvey Norman say no further Irish stock of PS5 expected this year

While Santa and his elves are busy making toys for boys and girls around the world, the Sony factories are just as hectic as anything that the North Pole has to offer.

That's because since being released, the demand for the PS5 has been staggering with retailers around Ireland constantly having to replenish their stocks.

In fact, some people that already pre-ordered the new console are still waiting for it to arrive and with the Christmas season drawing closer, it's still as competitive as ever to get your hands on Sony's new machine.

At the time of its original release, the website of Harvey Norman was so busy with online shoppers that it froze due to the high volumes of traffic.

A Harvey Norman spokeswoman said: " We have no further units expected this year at all.

"We had stock available last week which was released on our website through an online form and these units are sold out and will be sent out to those who were successful in the purchase after December 11 – this is not additional stock to be sold. "
