Harvey Neville announces his Manchester United departure

Harvey Neville has left Manchester United to link up with his father at Inter Miami.

The 18-year-old full-back, son of former United star Phil Neville and the nephew of Gary Neville, was a regular for the club's Under-23 side this season.

But he posted a picture of himself in Inter Miami training kit on Instagram with the caption "let's go", confirming he had left Old Trafford for a switch across the Atlantic.

Former England Women's boss Neville was announced as the first English manager of Major League Soccer new boys earlier this year, as he linked up with his former United teammate David Beckham — who owns the franchise.

Neville's son Harvey is yet to make a senior appearance in his career but will hope MLS gives him the platform to shine under his father. Like his father, Neville can play as a full-back on either side, or occasionally in midfield.

"Where David is concerned, he is an owner who has a sheer presence around the place," Phil Neville said about working with Beckham.

"We saw him around the training ground this morning, he didn't say that much but he's shaking everyone's hand, making sure he says hello to the guy on reception, the lady who works in the kitchen, the chef, and every single player.

"That has become part of the norm when he comes into training four, five, six days a week.

"It's as simple as that and the backing and support he has given me - purely by his presence - has been so good. The players recognise that and the staff have really felt that as well."
