Hollywood veteran Harvey Keitel's eclectic career is set to take another unusual turn this year. He has signed up to play the lead role in a Spanish-language film. Keitel, however, will only speak in English.
The 61-year-old star will play a Vietnam veteran who attempts to rescue his girlfriend after she becomes caught up in a South American coup d'etat in the film Ninguna Parte (Nowhere). The Latino cast will be led by Jorge Perugorria, Rosana Pastor, Angela Molina and Leo Sbaraglia.
The $5.6m (£3.84m) political drama will mark the directorial debut of Luis Sepulveda, the Chilean novelist whose first novel, The Old Man Who Read Love Stories, was adapted for the big screen last year, starring Richard Dreyfuss.
The seven-week shoot begins in March in Salta in northern Argentina and then moves to Barcelona. Keitel is expected to join the set in April after finishing the Manuel Pradol drama, Le Volcan, in which he co-stars with Andie MacDowell
