Harvey Elliott set for surgery as Liverpool release injury update
Liverpool have confirmed that Harvey Elliott will undergo surgery after suffering a “serious ankle injury”.
The 18-year-old was stretchered off in the second-half against Leeds, following a challenge from Pascal Struijk, which saw the defender receive a red card during the Reds’ 3-0 win.
The club have issued an update on Elliott’s condition, after Jurgen Klopp initially stated he believed the midfielder had suffered a dislocated ankle in his post-match interview.

The scene of Harvey Elliott being down injured was a distressing one for Liverpool, with the teenager having enjoyed a successful season so far.
However, the midfielder still managed to make one fan’s day, when he arrived at hospital, despite having suffered a major injury.
Having been placed next to a young Reds supporter, who had sustained a broken arm in his own football match, Elliott provided him with a few souvenirs to make his day a memorable one.
