Liverpool are considering an approach from Blackburn Rovers to take Harvey Elliott on loan.
Elliott has already made nine senior appearances for Jurgen Klopp's side but will see opportunities dwindle over the coming months at Anfield.
With the Reds out of the Carabao Cup, Elliott 's chances of first-team minutes look increasingly slim following Xherdan Shaqiri's decision to stay and the arrival of Diogo Jota from Wolves.
Liverpool retain huge hopes for a gifted teenager who remains the youngest player to ever feature in the Premier League.
However, the Reds are mulling over a proposal from Blackburn to take Elliott on loan for the season in the Championship.
Liverpool are careful about how they select loan offers from potential suitors.
But they are open to allowing the 17-year-old Elliott the chance to develop with Rovers in the second tier.

And it is believed that Blackburn feel the offer of senior football could be enough for Elliott to accept the offer of moving to Ewood Park for the campaign.
Elliott arrived at Liverpool in the summer of 2019 from Fulham but was given his first-team debut just a few weeks later when the Reds travelled to MK Dons in the Carabao Cup.
His two Premier League appearances saw him fall short of officially earning a winners' medal but the youngster was given a specially-commissioned one by Jurgen Klopp after the Reds lifted the title at home to Chelsea in July.
Blackburn have until 5pm on Friday evening to complete the deal.
