International best-selling Japanese author Haruki Murakami's last book 'Killing Commendatore' was released in 2017. Now, after a brief hiatus of six years, Murakami's new novel is all set to be published in April this year!
The news was announced by Murakami's publisher Shinchosha a few days ago. 'In a brief statement in Japanese, Shinchosha said the new work would be published on April 13, but gave neither its title nor details of the plot,' reported AFP.
Murakami's new novel is said to have roughly 1200 Japanese manuscript pages. It is speculated that the novel will be published in Japanese first and it will be translated into other languages later. However, the publisher hasn't confirmed much.
For those who don't know, Murakami is a well-known Japanese writer and his works have been translated to roughly 50 languages. He is often pegged for the prestigious Nobel Prize in Literature.
