AFC Hartwood football team have been working hard throughout their first season to work towards their awards night.
The boys made the decision to put all money raised from their awards night – which featured games and raffle prizes – towards local mental health and suicide awareness charity, Chris’s House.
The 50 teens in attendance raised £320 for the charity, writes Daphne Miller.
Representatives from Chris’s House gave the group a talk about the charity, what it does within the community and to thank everyone for their generous donations.
Alan McCairn who is in close contact with Chris’s House said: “The Hartwood awards night was a massive success. We had a great night and raised a lot of money for the charity.
“I can’t thank them enough. We are thankful for Donna and Gabriel McClymont in particular for coming and speaking on behalf of the charity.
“We managed to raise £320 for what is arguably the best independent organisation in Britain.
“Thanks to everyone who came out and donated.”
Whilst their football season had a rough start the boys definitely had their heart in the right place.
