Hartcliffe Way crash: Man left with 'potentially life-threatening injuries'

A pedestrian was taken to hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries after being hit by a van.

Hartcliffe Way was closed in one direction yesterday (January 6) afternoon as emergency crews dealt with the crash.

Avon and Somerset Police has now released an update about what happened.

The statement said: "At 3.43pm on Wednesday (January 6) patrolling officers called in a collision on Hartcliffe Way involving a pedestrian and a van.

"The injured man has been taken to hospital by ambulance with potentially life-threatening injuries and his next of kin have been informed."

At the time of the crash, motorists were urged to avoid the area and find an alternative route as traffic was very slow.
