Hartcliffe crash: Man taken to hospital after being hit by a car

A man was taken to hospital on Thursday night (December 2) after he was hit by a car in Hartcliffe.

Avon and Somerset Police were called to Bishport Avenue at 6:50pm and closed the road while the crash was dealt with.

Ambulance crews also responded to the incident, and the man was taken to hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Bishport Avenue was closed for nearly an hour, with a witness reporting seeing "loads of ambulances and police" in the area.

In a statement, Avon and Somerset Police said: “We were called at 6.50pm on Thursday (December 2) to a collision between a car and a pedestrian in Bishport Avenue, Hartcliffe.

“The pedestrian, a man, was taken to hospital to be treated. His injuries were not life-threatening.

“The road was closed while the incident was dealt with and re-opened at around 7.45pm.”
