Hart Builders has been appointed to deliver a £5.7 million affordable housing development in Galashiels by Eildon Housing Association.
The Cruden Group firm will begin work on the 34- home, five-storey building at Huddersfield Street in July. It will comprise one, two and three-bedroom apartments with lift access, residents' parking and cycle storage. Work is due to be completed towards the end of 2021.
Andy Mallice, managing director of Edinburgh-based Hart Builders, said: “We are delighted to continue our strong working relationship with Eildon as we begin working on this exciting new development in Galashiels to bring quality affordable homes to the area.
“Hart Builders ensures that all developments support the local community, and on this development, we have been working with the local schools who designed and completed the Ivor Goodsite murals, and these will continue to be displayed on the site hoarding throughout the construction works.
"We will also be offering opportunities to local sub-contractors to ensure we maximise the benefits of the project for the local economy.”
