Harry Winks gives insight into Spurs' dressing room amid uncertainty ahead of transfer deadline

There could still be a bit of movement in the transfer market at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium over the coming days with the European transfer deadline nearly upon us.

With Victor Wanyama looking likely to seal a move to Club Brugge very soon after falling down the pecking order in north London after a torrid time through injury over the past two years, a number of other players have uncertain futures in the capital at present.

Christian Eriksen, Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld are all out of contract at the end of the season and are able to leave on free transfers, with Danny Rose's future also up in the air as he was given time to explore other opportunities in the summer while the rest of the squad were on the pre-season tour of Asia.

Mauricio Pochettino has spoken about the fact his squad are "unsettled" as the transfer window is still open for the vast majority of European clubs, yet midfielder Harry Winks has claimed that it has not filtered down into the changing room despite the deadline edging ever closer.

"Not really, no one has really taken notice of that, our focus is just on every game we have and every training session we have. We don't think about that," he said.

There are currently big question marks over Eriksen's future at the club as his contract in N17 expires at the end of the current season.

Tipped to join Real Madrid in the summer following whispers of a move to the Santiago Bernabeu for the best part of 18 months, there's still the possibility he could be on the move over the coming days as the European transfer deadline isn't until Monday, September 2.

Amid a lot of speculation regarding his next move, Winks has claimed that his fellow midfielder is still fully committed to playing for the Lilywhites.

"Yeah, of course," he added. "Every player is 100 per cent committed to the club, every player wants to do well and do big things at Tottenham and that will never change."

England manager Gareth Southgate names his England squad later today for the upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers and the 23-year-old could be back in the fold after missing out on playing in the UEFA Nations League in the summer.

It's a big year for the player with the European Championship coming up at the end of the season and Winks has admitted that he is thinking about a recall even though playing for Spurs is his priority.

"It is something that is always in the back of my head," he said. "I want to be fit and selected for England, everybody wants to play for their country, but first and foremost it is about performing for Tottenham, improving for Tottenham and performances will warrant those call-ups and opportunities.

"It was difficult to watch the boys play and perform after the Champions League and not being involved, but the manager called me and I totally respect and understand his decision and why he did it.

"All I can do is work hard and get back in the team.

"Gareth is always positive, he always gives his opinion and I always respect the manager's decision."
