Harry Winks could finally be granted transfer wish after deciding on next move after Tottenham

Harry Winks could get his wish this summer after reportedly deciding on his next move.

The Tottenham midfielder has been limited in his game time under Jose Mourinho this season, starting just six times and only making nine Premier League appearances in total.

That reduced time on the pitch could see Winks seek a summer exit from North London, and it was reported in February that he would like the opportunity to play in Spain.

Spanish publication Sport claimed Winks is one of the Premier League players who would like to play in La Liga and one of the players with the possibility of following former teammate Kieran Tripper to Spain.

Winks has Spanish ancestry through his grandparents and he did once say: "I've got Spanish grandparents and I've got a connection with Spain," when asked whether he would represent England and Spain at international level.

Considering himself English, Winks is now an England international but he could still be open to a move to Spain, according to the report, and he might be able to get his wish.

That's because La Liga outfit Valencia are fans of Winks and a change at the Mestalla club could put them in position to sign the midfielder.

According to reports, Valencia had a loan bid for Winks rejected during the January transfer window, but they could yet make a permanent or another loan move for the 25-year-old.

That's because Valencia are set to get a new owner after crown prince of Southern Malaysia state Johor, Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, expressed an interest in taking over from the much-maligned current owner Peter Lim at Mestalla.

Reports claim he has already agreed a deal with Lim to buy the club in what is a potentially huge boost for Valencia and their transfer hopes ahead of the summer.

Though, much would depend on what sort of finances the prospective new owner can raise with Valencia in need of cash despite selling a number of star players last summer, including Dani Parejo, Rodrigo Moreno and Ferran Torres.

Winks, under contract until 2024 would likely cost Valencia, or indeed anyone else, more than £20million this summer if Spurs did want to sell the midfielder.
