The eye-watering wages Cardiff City will pay Liverpool to loan Harry Wilson - report

Nottingham Forest have missed out on the loan signing of Harry Wilson with the Liverpool reportedly joining Cardiff City for the rest of the season.

Although not officially announced, WalesOnline say the deal is done with Cardiff to pay a £1.2m loan fee and Wilson's £60,000 per week wages in full for the rest of the season.

Forest had been strongly linked with the Wales international, along with Derby County and Swansea City.

The signing of Wilson will be a real coup for Cardiff with the 23-year-old having previously excelled in the Championship, when he scored 18 goals for Derby two seasons ago.

Last season he found the back of the net seven times for Bournemouth as they were relegated from the Premier League.

Liverpool were ready to sell Wilson this summer for a reported fee of £15m but no one was willing to go that high, with Burnley unable to haggle over a fee successfully.

With a sale to a Premier League side no longer an option after the first transfer deadline, Liverpool have agreed to loan Wilson to a second tier club.

Forest are still looking to sign a winger with Fulham's Anthony Knockaert said to be close to joining.
