Harry Wilson, repeatedly reported as a Leeds United target, has spoken about his future after a season on loan with Derby County.
The Liverpool midfielder has had a stellar campaign in the Championship with the Rams, to add to the headlines he created in the year previous with Hull City.
After 18 goals in 49 appearances across all competitions for Frank Lampard’s side before losing out in the play-off final to Aston Villa.
After such resounding success in the second tier the expectation is the Wales international may now be placed at a Premier League club if not the Reds first team.
Wilson himself remains unclear on his parent club’s intentions.
“It (playing in several positions) is only going to benefit me because now I don’t necessarily play on the wing, I play either side, number 10, central midfield,” he told The Guardian.
“There is a loan guy called Jools [Julian Ward]. I am in touch with him and he reports back to the manager. I have had a few texts off [Jürgen Klopp].
“It’s good to know you are not being forgotten. I wanted to come to a good football team so I could showcase what I could do.
“Hopefully the manager has seen the games on TV and I’ve made a good impression. I’ll go back there pre-season. What happens from there I don’t know.”
The Whites seem an unlikely destination for Wilson, given they will play in the Championship once again next season, but The Sun again ran a story on Sunday suggesting they were after him , along with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
