'Saddest ever' Grand Designs estate agent denies Harry Styles bought £8m property

Harry Styles did not splash £8million Grand Designs’ saddest property ever - despite recent rumours that the singer had purchased the sprawling property.

The former One Direction star, 28, was reported to have splashed an eye-watering £8million on the property on the North Devon coast after he paid a visit to the scenic location earlier this year.

However, the rumours have since been diffused by the estate agents who are selling the Devon mansion.

The Watermelon Sugar chart-topper was reported to have added the sprawling property to his list of homes in the UK and the US, with his newest property based in Croyde Bay - a popular seaside village in North Devon.

Earlier this summer, Harry was spotted by locals on the south coast, and it's here where he allegedly first saw the property - which previously appeared on Grand Designs, with viewers dubbing it the 'saddest ever' property.

Edward Short was the original owner of the £8million property when it appeared on the Channel 4 property series Grand Designs.

Back in October 2019, when Edward appeared on the popular show, his home was described as the ‘saddest’ house in the show's history.

Edward is now selling the property after enduring a series of personal struggles including a battle with Covid-19.

He also admitted the house has been a ‘stain of failure’ for his family.

While he hoped to create the perfect property, Edward faced more heartache when he split from his wife Hazel.

The property owner now wishes to simply get rid of the house - but evidently, Harry hasn't been the one to snap it up.

The singer's current London home in Hampstead, London, is in the middle of the bustling village.

After word has got out about Harry's latest property venture, local residents couldn't quite believe their luck, but sadly, Harry won't be moving to North Devon anytime soon.

"It's the talk of the village," one local told Daily Star.

"Harry Styles has apparently bought the house for £8 million. I don't know whether it's just Chinese Whispers but that's what everyone is saying."

While another local told: "I'd heard that Harry Styles had bought the house. I don't know whether it's true but if it is then Harry's welcome here."
