Harry Styles' My Policeman: Prime Video release date, cast, storyline and more

Fans of Harry Styles will get the chance to watch his latest film, My Policeman (2022) on Prime Video just weeks after it lands in cinemas on October 21.

Produced by Amazon Studios, the queer period drama stars Styles, 28, as Police Constable Tom Burgess in 1950s Brighton navigating a love triangle involving his wife (Emma Corrin) and a local museum curator (David Dawson).

While many can't wait to see Styles on screen again, the film's critical reception has been mixed. Though some praised Dawson's performance, many critics at the Toronto International Film Festival panned the film's direction, as well as Styles' performance in the role.

My Policeman released date and streaming date

My Policeman is hitting cinema screens October 21 but, thanks to it being produced by Amazon Studios, it will be joining Prime Video just weeks later.

The UK-based film will go live for Amazon Prime subscribers at the same time globally, so fans who miss it in the cinemas will be able to catch Styles' latest film at the same time anywhere.

Styles fans can expect to see My Policeman drop on the platform November 4 and see if the Toronto film critics were right, or if the Watermelon Sugar singer received an unfair rap for his role in the film.

Trailer, cast, and background for Harry Styles' My Policeman

My Policeman is based on a 2012 novel of the same name by Bethan Roberts that was praised by critics as a "moving story of longing and frustration" that skilfully reflected the homophobic society of 1950s Britain.

Inspired by English novelist E. M. Forster's (A Room With A View) later-in-life romantic entanglement with a local police officer, both the book and the film explore the complexities of the relationship between schoolteacher Marion (Corinn), who has had a lifelong love for her brother's friend Tom (Styles). Despite marrying Tom, his close friendship with local museum curator Patrick (Dawson) draws her suspicion.

Fans were titillated to find out that My Policeman will feature some full nudity from the heartthrob, as well as a raunchy sex scene between Tom and Patrick. The film is formed as a reminiscence between Tom and David in the 1990s, where the older Tom is played by Linus Roach, and Patrick by Rupert Everett.
