Harry Styles cancels Glasgow Hydro gig after UK and European tour is pushed back due to coronavirus

Harry Styles has postponed his scheduled gig in Glasgow due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The former One Direction star announced that he is putting his entire UK and European tour on hold as restrictions remain in place across the globe.

He was due to play at The SSE Hydro on March 16, 2021, but the date has now been pushed back until further notice.

Taking to Twitter, the Watermelon Sugar singer wrote: “Everyone’s health and safety remains our top priority, which is why I unfortunately have to postpone my UK and European shows planned for February/March 2021 until further notice.

“I really hope to play these shows and will have news for you in the New Year on when they will take place.

“I can’t wait to see you all on the road as soon as it’s safe to do so.

“Treat people with kindness.”

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon announced that Glasgow will remain in level three restrictions.

No live events are permitted under the strict rules due to the risks posed by Covid-19.

A number of high profile acts have been pulling out of gigs across Scotland since the beginning of the pandemic earlier this year.

Indoor seated events are allowed to take place under level one of the Scottish Government’s coronavirus alert system but with restricted numbers only.

It is unclear when concert goers will be invited back to the 12,000 seater Hydro venue.
