Prince Charles will be "feeling wretched" after Prince Harry's latest criticism of the Royal Family - but he still wants reconciliation, it's claimed.
The Queen is also said to be "deeply upset" by what Harry has said in his recent interview with Oprah Winfrey, in particular his comments about his father's parenting, according to an insider.
In the documentary series The Me You Can't See on Apple TV+, Harry said he would "never be bullied into silence again" and claimed his dad allowed him to "suffer" as a child in the face of the media.
During the programme, the Duke of Sussex also accused his family of "total neglect" when his wife Meghan Markle said she was feeling suicidal.
Harry said the situation had become so bad that he feared his family could not help.
But despite Harry's criticism, the Prince of Wales reportedly wants a reconciliation with his son.
A source told the Mail on Sunday : "Charles is such a gentle man and a dedicated father first and foremost.
"He’ll be feeling wretched. He wants to seek a reconciliation. He is not vindictive at all."
This is not the first time Harry criticises Prince Charles publicly.
During Harry and Meghan's Oprah interview in March, the Duke of Sussex said his dad cut him off financially when he and his family left the UK.
In The Me You Can't See, Harry accused his family of not speaking about his mum Diana's death and expecting him to just deal with the resulting press attention and mental distress when he was just a young teenager.
He told Oprah: "My father used to say to me when I was younger, he used to say to both William and I, 'Well it was like that for me so it's going to be like that for you'.
"That doesn't make sense. Just because you suffered doesn't mean that your kids have to suffer, in fact quite the opposite.
"If you suffered, do everything you can to make sure that whatever negative experiences you had, that you can make it right for your kids."
Harry objected to the royals encouraging him to "play the game", telling the host: "I've got a hell of a lot of my mum in me.
"The only way to free yourself and break out is to tell the truth."
A source said Harry's latest claims have also made the Queen upset even though she has not commented publicly about them and has carried on with her duties - such as her visit to the HMS Queen Elizabeth at the weekend.
An insider said: "Harry’s grandmother has taken this very personally and is deeply upset by what Harry has said, in particular his comments about Charles’s parenting and suggesting his father knows no better because of how he was brought up.
"It has been a very upsetting time."
Meanwhile, a source said Prince Charles will leave Harry "out in the cold" if he attacks the Queen "in a more personal way".
They said: "If Harry was to attack the Queen in a more personal way, Charles would close ranks with the Queen without a doubt and Harry would be out in the cold.”
