Harry returns to California following Prince Philip’s funeral

Prince Harry has returned to California following the funeral of his grandfather the Duke of Edinburgh.

The Duke of Sussex is reported to have landed in the US from Heathrow, London on an American Airlines flight on Tuesday around 1.30pm local time.

According to MailOnline, Harry’s chauffeur-driven car was seen leaving a private terminal at the Los Angeles International airport and spotted again arriving at the Sussexes Montecito mansion at around 4pm.

His departure came a day before the Queen’s 95th birthday.

Her Majesty’s celebrations would usually have included a number of events and a gun salute but this year it was low key to reflect her two-week period of mourning after the death of Prince Philip.

Mourning will continue until Friday, which means no photograph to mark the milestone of her 95th birthday is expected to be released.

She is, however, set to have a lunch with immediate family members at Windsor Castle, the Telegraph reported.

Harry’s had flown into Heathrow using an “open ended ticket” on April 11, and isolated at Frogmore Cottage before attending his grandfather’s service on Saturday.

His wife Meghan Markle, who is pregnant with their second child, stayed at their home in California with their son Archie. She was advised not to travel to the funeral by her doctors.

Prince Philip’s funeral was the first time Harry had been with his relatives since the couple’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, which was broadcast last month.

Speculation grew ahead of the funeral on how exactly the family would receive him since the pair made shocking revelations in their sit down with Winfrey.

But the prince was seen walking and talking with his brother and the Duchess of Cambridge after the funeral.
