Harry Redknapp sends Daniel Levy thinly-veiled dig amid Tottenham transfer claim

Harry Redknapp has jokingly sent a dig at Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy.

Redknapp spent four years as Spurs manager between 2008 and 2012, winning the Premier League Manager of the Year award for his managerial efforts during the 2009/10 campaign. Now, he has poked fun at his former boss Levy, claiming that the Lillywhites transfer chief would sell his own grandmother at the right price.

When asked if Tottenham and Chelsea would sell players to each other Redknapp told SPORTBible: "Yeah, yeah, Daniel don't (sic) care who he sells to, as long as he gets the money. Daniel Levy will sell to anybody.

"He'd sell his grandmother if he can get the right price." Redknapp's jokes came after he had revealed he wanted to sign former Chelsea winger Arjen Robben during his time as Spurs head coach.

"Arjen Robben I tried to sign him," he said after Dutchman was brought up. When quizzed on why a move for Robben never materialised, he responded by saying: "I don't know, he went somewhere else."

Tottenham fans will hope that Redknapp's comments aren't an indication that Levy would be willing to sell star player Harry Kane, who has been linked with a move to Manchester United and Real Madrid in recent times. But in good news for supporters of the north London club, United are reportedly ready to give up before the window has even officially opened.

It is claimed that United are increasingly resigned to the reality that they won't be able to prise Kane away from N17 this summer.
