Harry Redknapp has revealed how emotional he was, when he found out his son Jamie was splitting with wife Louise.
Harry was speaking about the pair's divorce on Piers Morgan's life stories and admits the news left him "choked."
Retired football manager Harry said: "I was choked, absolutely, I just never ever, ever could see that happening. I thought they were getting married forever. They were such a lovely couple together.
"It came completely out of the blue. They were not a showbiz marriage if you like. Lou just did not want to be anywhere without Jamie. They were very, very down to earth, the pair of them. It was a shock when it happened. Very sad."
Louise admitted she felt like a "Stepford wife" during her 19-year marriage to former Liverpool star Jamie, but Harry said he didn't think it was like that.
The 72-year-old said: "Lou was happiest when she was with the kids, Jamie, the kids and the dogs. That was their life really. Walking the dogs, going with the kids everywhere. It's difficult. No-one knows what goes on behind closed doors do they in life? So you don't know. It is sad."
Harry also said he wasn't sure if the pair would get back together, saying: "It's up to them isn't it."
Jamie and Louise have two children together Charley and Beau, they officially divorced in December 2017, after being on the rocks since Louise's Strictly stint.
