Harry Redknapp says he aims to buy his own football team like David Beckham

Come on you Redknapps – Harry wants to buy a football club.

The ex-Spurs and West Ham manager’s ambition is to own his own team like David Beckham.

He aims to start shopping for a club after lockdown.

And if I’m A Celeb winner Harry wanted to film his new venture there would be plenty of offers. The Cockney footy favourite became an established TV star after being crowned King of the Jungle in 2018.

A source said: “It would be TV gold.”

His inspiration is David Beckham who owns US club Inter Miami and has shares in Salford City FC with ex-Man United team mates like Ryan Giggs and Gary Neville.

Harry said: “When we come out of lockdown, I’d like to buy a football club. That is my ambition. Lower level, division one or two or even national league. But a club with some potential. Getting on the coach on a Saturday – I’d love that.”

Meanwhile Harry, 73, won even more TV fans recently in Harry’s Heroes: Euro Having A Laugh, coaching a team of ex- England aces on ITV.

The show saw the likes of David Seaman, Paul Merson and Matt Le Tissier face a German legends team on a European tour.

They even played a French nudist side – and Harry joked on Peter Crouch’s BBC Radio 5 podcast he was jealous of one.

He said: “All they had on was boots and socks. If I had what their goalkeeper had I’d play in the nude.”

But getting his kit off in public is not a naked ambition for Harry after he revealed a shock encounter walking his dogs on a nudist beach near his home.

“This old couple were laying out a picnic when a guy comes out the sand dunes with not a stitch on. They bolted. I have never seen anyone move so quick.

“So I give it a swerve now.”
