Harry Redknapp's stark warning for Mikel Arteta on the task he faces at Arsenal

Harry Redknapp insists that Mikel Arteta will have a tough job on his hands at Arsenal to change the culture of the team.

The former Gunners captain is expected to be confirmed as the permanent successor to Unai Emery, having said his farewell at Manchester City, where he has been working as assistant head coach alongside Pep Guardiola.

He is expected to watch from the stands at Goodison Park as Arsenal face Everton in the Premier League tomorrow (Saturday), with Arteta then likely to take training for the first time as head coach on Monday morning.

But with Arsenal currently tenth in the Premier League with 22 points from 17 games so far this season, the former Spurs and West Ham boss has fired a warning to Arteta and the task ahead for the Spaniard.

Pep Guardiola speaks about Mikel Arteta future following Oxford win

“They’ve got a tough job there, whoever goes in there," Redknapp said, speaking to Talksport.

“They [Arsenal] are miles away from being a good team. They have got to change the whole culture of the team, when they lose the ball, they jog, they don’t run, they don’t chase, there is a lack of effort there.

“He has got a real job on his hands there, Arteta.”
