Harry Redknapp's disastrous Who Wants To Be A Millionaire showing leaves Jeremy Clarkson stunned

Harry Redknapp has made a calamitous appearance on Who Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? after crashing out without earning any cash for charity.

The former football manager was quizzed by Jeremy Clarkson on the ITV show but has become the first celebrity in its history to go home empty handed.

74-year-old Redknapp, who managed West Ham United, Portsmouth, Southampton, Tottenham Hotspur and Queens Park Rangers, was left embarrassed by his shocking display.

The former ITV I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! King of the Jungle crashed out having only got three questions right.

Show host Jeremy Clarkson, 61, is said to have been left astonished that the sports expert failed to take home any money.

The episode itself is due to air tonight (Thursday) on ITV at 9pm (ITV)

While Harry himself is said to have been devastated that he managed to answer only three questions correctly – clocking up £300 before fluffing his £500 question, according to Birmingham Live.

The star was distraught because he was playing to win money for a charity – and in light of his failure, he proved he has a heart of gold as he took money from his own pocket to donate to his preferred cause instead.

A source told The Sun : “He was clearly shocked and embarrassed at getting the boot so early in the competition — he’d barely been in the hotseat a few minutes.

After his failure on the show Harry put his hand in his own pocket to help out his chosen charity (ITV)

“But he was crestfallen mainly because he’d failed to raise any funds and didn’t hesitate to put his hand in his pocket.

“It was certainly a contrast to when he was on another big ITV show, I’m A Celebrity . . . Get Me Out of Here!, which he won.”

Fans of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? will of course know that you need to answer five questions correctly in order to win a guaranteed prize of £1,000 to take away.

If players can answer 10 questions, they will guarantee themselves £32,000 – while answering all 15 questions correctly wins the top prize of one million pounds.

It is reported that Harry failed to answer a film related question correctly during round four of his own game – while the episode itself is due to air tonight on ITV at 9pm.
