Harry Redknapp responds to I'm A Celeb snub and jokes 'maybe they lost my number'

Harry Redknapp opened up on not joining the I'm A Celebrity All Stars series when joined Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard on Thursday's Good Morning Britain.

The spin-off, based in South Africa, has seen many fan favourite campmates return such as Georgia 'Toff' Toffolo, Shaun Ryder, Gillian McKeith and Dean Gaffney but, King of the Jungle Harry did not make the line-up.

On Thursday's Good Morning Britain, Harry spoke to Kate and Ben to discuss a celebrity football match he is leading but the presenters couldn't resist quizzing the football manager on why he was absent from I'm A Celebrity's latest series.

Kate remarked: "I was quite surprised you didn't get a phone call for the I'm a Celebrity All-Stars, did you ever fancy going back?"

Harry admitted he wasn't asked to return to I'm A Celebrity (ITV)

"No, I didn't get the phone call Kate," Harry replied. "I don't know, maybe they lost my number."

"No, it didn't happen but I think once is, 'You've done it,' once was enough," he added. "It was a great experience, but I really am not desperate to get back in again."

Kate, who took part in the 2019 series, admitted she didn't receive a call asking her to return either.

"Well I didn't get a phonecall either, so maybe we can go together in a future year," she quipped.

"Yeah, the second all-stars series!" Ben joked as Kate agreed: "Yes, exactly."

I'm A Celebrity viewers shared the same sentiment as Kate and were keen to see Harry return to the jungle.

One fan of the King of the Jungle tweeted: "I hope they do another series I'd love to see Harry Redknapp back #imaceleb," while another added: "All I wanted is Harry Redknapp!! Best camp mate by far, so please bring him back #ImACeleb."

A third questioned: "Where's Noel Edmunds & Harry Redknapp?? Should be there #ImACeleb."

Harry appeared on Good Morning Britain to discuss marking the seventeenth anniversary of the fatal stabbing of 15-year-old aspiring footballer, Kiyan Prince.

The former Premier League football manager is fronting a celebrity football match in the teenager's memory.
