Harry Redknapp has moved to downplay the spat between Frank Lampard and Jose Mourinho which overshadows Sunday's Premier League showdown between Chelsea and Tottenham.
Lampard and Mourinho share a long history together with the former being a key player for the latter during their time together at Chelsea.
But they are now adversaries, managing two of the biggest clubs in English football and Mourinho has not been shy in taking jabs at Lampard.
Following Tottenham's penalty shoot-out Carabao Cup win over Chelsea in September, Mourinho said Lampard needed to be more supportive of his players when they are losing after looking 'sad' when his team were 3-0 down to West Brom before fighting back to draw 3-3.
“The only thing I was telling him was just an opinion from an old coach to a young talented coach which was when the players need us is when they are losing," Mourinho said.
"When they are winning we don’t need to be the protagonists of the touchline.
“We need to be there when they are losing and the last match when they were losing 3-0 I felt sorry for him because he was really sad and quiet in his chair.
"In terms of football, I have nothing to teach him. It is just an opinion. Stay on the touchline when your team is losing and stay calm when your team is winning.”
Lampard opted not to fire his own barb at Mourinho, insisting he still has respect for his old manager.
But Redknapp, Lampard's uncle, has revealed the Chelsea boss was rattled by Mourinho's comments.
"Some people have built up that row at the Carabao Cup game into something it’s not ahead of Chelsea playing Spurs again today," he told The Sun.
"I speak to Frank a lot and know he got a bit of the hump after Jose said he didn’t get off the bench when he was losing 3-0 at West Brom, but it was something and nothing."
