Harry Redknapp has revealed how he "would love" to see Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos join Tottenham in the January transfer window
Spurs have been linked with a number of forwards following the news that Harry Kane is set to be sidelined until April with a hamstring injury.
Edinson Cavani and Diego Costa are just two of forwards who have been linked with a move to Jose Mourinho’s side this month, while reports also emerged on Friday morning that a deal to sign Krzysztof Piatek was close to completion.
But Redknapp believes his old club should be looking to secure Morelos this month.
"I would take him, yeah. I'd have a go [at signing him]. He is right up my street," Redknapp replied on talkSPORT when asked on Friday morning whether he would like to see the Colombian at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Before the former West Ham boss added: "I'll have him, I'd love him! He could come and set the place alight, couldn't he."
Reports from Scotland earlier this week suggested that as many as 12 clubs are tracking the Gers star who has scored 28 goals so far this season.
But addressing reports about his future recently, Morelos said: "There are no real proposals from other clubs, there is nothing.
"There has never been an offer for me to leave. I am only focused on Rangers.
"The English Premier League is a super important league and going there would be a good thing for me. But there has been nothing concrete and you just have to keep working hard and waiting for an opportunity."
