Harry Redknapp makes claim about Mauricio Pochettino's future at Spurs

Harry Redknapp does not believe that Mauricio Pochettino's job at Tottenham Hotspur is in danger.

Spurs have struggled this season with an unsettled squad and currently lie 14th in the Premier League, without a win since September.

Reports have suggested that Pochettino could be heading out of the club if Tottenham lose at London rivals West Ham United next weekend, but former Spurs and Hammers boss Redknapp does not agree.

"West Ham will be a difficult game, but I don't see his job being on the line. I like him. He's a great personality, he knows the game, he's a top manager. I don't see it," he told Sky Sports.

"He's got to win something, in all honesty. We keep saying every year that Tottenham, with that squad, that group of players, they still haven't won a trophy.

"They've got to get some silverware on the sideboard from somewhere. They're not going to win the league and I don't think they're good enough to win the Champions League this year.

"They're out of the League Cup so they're going to have to win the FA Cup, which is a possibility. They're good enough.

"I'm a big fan of Pochettino. I think he's great."

Redknapp has looked on this season with various players not getting the moves out of Tottenham that they wanted and he admits that missing out on the top four this season would be a major blow for the club.

"It's strange. I'm a great fan of the manager. You have spells where things just don't go and there's a bit of discontent at the club with two or three of them wanting to leave. I see Danny Rose is talking about letting his contract run down," he said.

"It's a shame. I thought this season they would push on and push Liverpool and Manchester City for the title. I saw them being very close this year.

"At the moment they're looking like they'll struggle to make the top four, which would be a massive blow if they don't make the Champions League with the money that's been invested in the training ground and the stadium, anything less than Champions League qualification would be a poor season."
