Harry Potter star pokes fun at West End co-star with 'Gryffin-dork' joke

Harry Potter star Tom Felton has been involved in a wizardly prank war with a fellow West End co-star, as he performs as part of the cast of 2:22, A Ghost Story.

Earlier this week, Edinburgh Live reported that Tom had returned to his Criterion Theatre dressing room in London to find his portrait on his door, sporting a wand, glasses, a lightning scar and a speech bubble.

The speech bubble read: "You shall not pass!", which is from Lord of the Rings and not our beloved boy wizard series - easy mistake to make right?

Tom posted the jibe on Instagram, writing in the caption: "Someone’s been at my dressing room door."

And now, Tom has exacted his revenge on the perpetrator Sam Swainsbury, who is also in the cast of 2:22, with a Harry Potter prank duo of his own.

Firstly, Sam posted a photo of himself standing next to a photoshopped version of Hermione Granger's headshot, with his face plastered on, sporting glasses, a lightning scar and a Slytherin badge to boot.

Who would do such a thing? (Instagram)

He captioned this post on Instagram: "Someone's been at MY door...", in reference to Tom's earlier post.

Tom jokingly commented: "Who would do such a thing?"

Fans commented on Sam's post as they cackled at the prank war, with one Instagram user writing: "Door wars is getting even more interesting!"

Another said: "You guys are taking this to a whole new level!!"

And a third wrote: "Such a happy Slytherin!"

But the prank battle does not stop there, however - how could it with a Slytherin in the mix?

Tom posted a photo of himself with a grim-looking Sam, pointing to another photoshopped print of Sam on the movie cover of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.

Tom captioned the post: " 2-1 to team [Slytherin] #gryffindork."

Fans flocked to Tom's comments to share their laughter at the situation, with one Instagram user writing: " Love the rivalry!"

Another said: "I think Sam loves it, secretly!"

And a third wrote: "very slytherin of you."

You can watch Tom in 2:22: A Ghost Story at the Criterion Theatre in London until September 4.

Tickets are available now on the official site for Tom's newest venture, and are already selling out fast.
