Harry Potter star Jessie Cave says kids are mortified that she kissed Ron Weasley

Harry Potter star Jessie Cave says her children cannot cope with the fact that their mum kissed Ron Weasley.

The actress played loved-up Lavender Brown in the smash hit film series.

Her three kids still love watching the films back - but she says they are embarrassed by one scene in particular.

Jessie was speaking ahead of a new Harry Potter reunion special for HBO. The 33-year-old won't feature - but Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Ron actor Rupert Grint are all set to get together for the throwback episode.

Her absence is probably good news for children Donnie, seven, Margot, five, and unsuspecting Tennessee, one, with the smooch causing them to cringe.

She told Closer magazine: "During lockdown, we got through all of them.

"I asked them, 'What's your favourite bit about Harry Potter?' hoping they would say, 'You, mummy' - but they find me quite embarrassing in it!

"They can't get over the fact that I kiss Ron."

Jessie is now expecting her fourth child with her comedian partner Alfie Brown.

She added: "It changed the course of my life. You're only ever [as good as] your last job, so it was such an amazing stepping stone, and I don't know what my career would have been like without it."

Return To Hogwarts airs on New Year’s Day and Potter fans can't wait.

Helena Bonham Carter, Ralph Fiennes, Robbie Coltrane and Gary Oldman are among the other stars who appear in the reunion.

Fans will be able to enjoy in-depth interview with their favourite witches and wizards, as well as find out more about the making of it.

Speaking about the reunion, Emma wrote on Instagram : "I am proud not just of what we as group contributed as actors to the franchise but also as the children that became young adults that walked that path.

"I look at my fellow cast members now and I am just so proud of who everyone has become as people. I am proud we were kind to each other that we supported one another and that we held up something meaningful."

The special’s executive producer Casey Patterson said: “There’s magic in the air here with this incredible cast, as they all return home to the original sets of Hogwarts, where they began 20 years ago.

“The excitement is palpable as they prepare to take their fans on a very special and personal journey, through the making of these incredible films.”
