Harry Potter screening at Clifton College Chapel announced for Christmas

Harry Potter fans will be able to watch the franchise's first film in a stunning candle-lit location in Bristol.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone will be shown on the big screen as a part of Bristol Film Festival's Christmas line-up.

The screening at Clifton College Chapel will bring fans together in December as the legendary film turns 20 years old.

The festival was started by Owen Franklin in 2015 and prides itself in providing an alternative experience for lovers of film and cinema, while celebrating the cultural landscape of his home city.

Classic films are brought back to the big screen, set in some of Bristol’s most iconic and beautiful locations - such as Bristol Museum, Clifton Observatory, Bristol Cathedral, and Redcliffe Caves.

Bristol Film Festival's screening locations are selectively chosen to match the films and enhance the viewing experience, sometimes with additions such as live performers, venue tours or themed wine tastings.

Harry Potter screenings take place on December 11, with tickets priced at £9 for children and £15 for adults.

The film festival describes it as a "magical screening in one of Bristol’s most beautiful venues" and says the venue will be "bathed in candlelight" to add to the atmosphere.

Harry Potter is not the only film lined up for the festive season - cinema lovers can also book screenings of classic favourites such as ELF, Love Actually, Bridget Jones's Diary and more.

Full information on the upcoming screenings and tickets are available on the Bristol Film Festival website.
