Harry Potter fans can now live on one of the original film sets next to Hogwarts' famous Great Hall

Fans of Harry Potter can now live out their dream by purchasing a home on one of the original film sets - that is if they have a spare couple of million lying around. Some lavish apartments have now gone up for sale at an ex-public school which was used as the setting for Hogwarts' Great Hall, where some of Harry Potter's most renowned scenes were filmed.

Harry Potter enthusiasts will recognise the huge dining hall of the Royal Connaught Park housing development from the first three films of the franchise. Found in Hertfordshire, the grand residence was originally home to the Royal Masonic School for Boys back in 1900, but due to low attendance, the school closed in 1977 and became the the United States International University.

The university then shot to fame after being used in several famous films, including starring as the Great Hall of Hogwarts in the first three Harry Potter movies. Today, it is now a grand dining hall for residents living in the new houses built around the famous building.

Only 35 homes are left available to buy, giving Harry Potter fans the rare chance to play out their childhood dreams living at Hogwarts. But they come at a steep price - with a three bedroom apartment setting you back an eye-watering £1,425,000.

The gated housing development boasts a gym, tennis club and 100 acres of parkland for residents to enjoy inside the iconic grounds. Beneath the floor of the once Great Hall of Hogwarts is an elegant private swimming pool with a sauna, jacuzzi and changing facilities with a glass ceiling that looks up to the restored dining hall as they swim.

Residents can even host their own parties in the Great Hall where Harry Potter characters were filmed dining together and also found their fate after discovering which of the four school houses they were in after trying the Sorting Hat.

Homes are now being advertised to be bought on the luxurious development that has been described by The Comer Group as ‘the epitome of contemporary luxury in perfect harmony with Victorian splendour’.
