Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone with a live orchestra is coming to Liverpool

Harry Potter fans can watch the first blockbuster film with an added dose of magic in Liverpool this year.

The first film in the series, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, will get a special showing at Liverpool's Philharmonic Hall backed up by an entire orchestra.

The film will be screened with music provided by the Czech National Symphony Orchestra on 12 September in Liverpool and tickets for the event go on sale on Friday 7 June at 10am.

To get tickets to the event go to SeeTickets and those who miss out can choose from a series of other dates in cities around the UK. The tour heads to Manchester's Bridgewater Hall, Birmingham, Nottingham and other UK cities throughout September.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, based on JK Rowling's book of the same name, is the first in the seven-book series and the first film to feature a young Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter.

The film was released in 2001 and the soundtrack was composed and conducted by John Williams, the man behind iconic soundtracks such as Star Wars, Jaws, ET, Superman and Jurassic Park.

8 September 2019 – Royal Concert Hall, Nottingham
9 September 2019 – Sage, Gateshead
11 September 2019 – Symphony Hall, Birmingham
12 September 2019 – Philharmonic Hall, Liverpool
13 September 2019 – Usher Hall, Edinburgh
14 September 2019 – SEC Armadillo, Glasgow
15 September 2019 – City Hall, Sheffield
17 September 2019 – Royal Festival Hall, London
18 September 2019 – Royal Festival Hall, London
19 September 2019 – St David’s Hall, Cardiff
20 September 2019 – Forum, Bath
21 September 2019 – Bournemouth International Centre, Bournemouth
