Harry Pottage Supper at Newcastle's Blackfriars promises to be a magical experience

Diners are being encouraged to wear fancy dress for a Harry Potter-theme dinner at a historic Newcastle restaurant which is promising a magical evening.

The Banquet Hall at the medieval Blackfriars restaurant will be hosting the first Harry Pottage Supper on May 31 which will feature what's billed as a mystical menu including 'roast Hog’warts' and butter beer.

The night at the 13th Centry former friary will be welcoming witch, wizard and warlock guests from 7pm while chefs will be hard at work on the cauldron magic-ing up their three-course feast.

While Blackfriars regularly hosts events, its Harry Potter -theme night will be a first for the Newcastle venue so it's hoped that everyone will enter into the spirit of the occasion.

The cost for Harry Pottage Supper will be £49 (£25 for children) to include a drink on arrival; the meal; coffee and entertainment.
