Harry Maguire trolls Scott McTominay over Manchester United goal celebration

Harry Maguire took to social media to troll teammate Scott McTominay following Manchester United's win against Brighton at the weekend.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side returned to winning ways in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon thanks to a comfortable 3-1 win at Old Trafford.

Andreas Pereira opened the scoring for United in the first-half with a deflected effort before doubling their lead only two minutes later after an own goal from Davy Propper.

Propper's own goal saw United take a 2-0 lead in the 19th minute, the quickest they've been 2-0 up in a league game at Old Trafford since May 2017 against Crystal Palace.

However, Scott McTominay thought the goal was his following his initial effort, and he celebrated in style by running off and knee sliding in front of the Stretford End.

The goal was eventually awarded to the Brighton midfielder after replays showed he diverted the ball over the line and as a result McTominay was denied his third goal of the season.

Taking to Instagram after the match Maguire trolled the Scotland international for celebrating the goal in such a manner, before sending him a message of support following the injury he sustained late into the game.

"Knee sliding for them own goals... love it," Maguire wrote along with a laughing emoji. "Hope the scan goes well mate."
