Harry Maguire text his brother promising that he would score against Chelsea before doing exactly that at Stamford Bridge on Monday night.
The Manchester United captain rose high to meet a Bruno Fernandes corner and hand his side a crucial 2-0 victory.
Anthony Martial had put the visitors ahead earlier in the clash with a well taken header of his own, converting Aaron Wan-Bissaka's cross.
Chelsea were unlucky to not get more from the game when they had two goals disallowed by VAR. Kurt Zouma's strike was ruled out for a Cesar Azpilicueta push on Brandon Williams in the build up and Oliver Giroud was adjudged offside for his header.
Maguire himself also had the rub of the green when he was not sent off for kicking out at Chelsea forward Michy Batshuayi.
The England defender stayed on the pitch and grabbed a crucial goal as United closed the gap on the top four.
And a text to his brother, Laurence, before the game has shown he backed himself to score all along.
Laurence, who plays for Chesterfield, messaged his brother saying he could take advantage of set pieces against the Blues.
Maguire replied: "Yes I'm going to score around the back.
"I [sic] swinging corner."
Laurence shared the exchange on Twitter at full-time, to which Maguire replied: "About time."
It's the England centre-back's first headed goal for United and his second goal of the season.
