Harry Maguire reveals if he's ready to start for Manchester United against Chelsea in opener

Harry Maguire has completed his £80million move to Manchester United and has stated that he is ready to face Chelsea in their Premier League opener.

The Blues travel to Old Trafford on Sunday 11 for their first league game under Frank Lampard and the hosts have a new defender in their ranks.

The 26-year-old has been highly rated throughout his Premier League career and had a very good World Cup with England last summer.

While a move has been on the cards for several weeks, United have finally paid the fee for the defender ahead of the big match with the Blues.

And he has stated that he is ready to be selected for the crunch clash.

"It's incredible. It's a really proud moment for me to join such a big club, I'm really looking forward to it and I can't wait to get started," Maguire told the offical Manchester United website .

"Like you said, the first game last season was at Old Trafford – it's the fixture that I always look for when I've been playing in the Premier League, Old Trafford away and now it's my home, so I can't wait to get started.

Ross Barkley scores screamer in warm up

"I tend to get my head down – I've worked hard, I've done every session and I've played every game for Leicester so my fitness is there.

"That was a big part for me to play because if I ended up getting the move that I wanted, I would have been fit and in contention to play the first game. I feel like I'm ready to go, but obviously it's the gaffer's decision."
