Harry Maguire has reportedly been arrested after an incident outside a bar in Mykonos.
The Manchester United captain and England defender, 27, is said to be "co-operating with authorities" following the incident.
A spokesman for Hellenic Police’s South Aegean region said three men from England were arrested after "an altercation and exchange of words with police".
They added that they would appear before a prosecutor on the island of Syros later on Friday.
In a statement, Manchester United said they were aware of an alleged incident in Greece involving Maguire.
It said: “The club is aware of an alleged incident involving Harry Maguire in Mykonos last night.
“Contact has been made with Harry, and he is fully co-operating with the Greek authorities. At this time we will be making no further comment.”
Maguire’s fiancee Fern Hawkins on Thursday posted a picture of herself and the player together, with the caption: “Holidays with you…”
Footage posted on a Greek website shows Maguire earlier that night chatting with fans in the Matogiannia area of Mykonos town.
Maguire is the world’s most expensive defender, having signed for United from Leicester last summer for £80million.
In his first season at Old Trafford he was an ever-present in the Premier League, scoring one goal.
United players are taking time off after their Europa League exertions earlier this month. The club were eliminated by Spanish side Sevilla last Sunday.
